The Five Minute Journal

The Five Minute Journal

Do you take time to increase your gratitude, boost self confidence, start your morning off on the right foot, and have a moment of reflection at the end of each day? Would you do all this if I told you it only takes 5 minutes or less?

In the insanity of our daily routine,  we typically let the small things to be grateful for in our life fall by the wayside. Sometimes, the small things are what make all the difference between an “ehh” day and an amazing day. As busy individuals, we do not always give the gratitude that we deserve. We neglect to simply ask ourselves, “What would make today great?”. The 5 Minute Journal is the answer to all of these problems. The 5 Minute Journal was introduced to me by one of my top mentors, Tim Ferriss. It is simple and yet effective and I will explain it as so:

Find an empty notebook that you can use for daily writings

On the first page start with the date and the title; The Five Minute Journal.

Starting from top of the page going to the bottom, list the following titles and bullet points:

HOW COULD I HAVE MADE TODAY BETTER?

There is an actual 5  Minute Journal book that you can buy on Amazon that is designed for the daily journaling, but it’s just as effective to hand write in the sub sections for each day. This process is extremely easy and beneficial.  I have noticed an increase in my overall mood and self-image since starting The 5 Minute Journal. I truly enjoy the reflection at the end of each day as I feel like it helps with boosting my productivity and letting me recognize my essential duties. I hope you enjoy the journal as much as I do. An attitude of gratitude creates abundance in ones life. Have an amazing day!
